Amon Magulilo, a young man from Nyasa, Ruvuma, faced a devastating challenge after a motorcycle accident led to a severe leg injury. Without proper treatment, his wound became infected, ultimately developing into osteosarcoma (bone cancer). As the cancer progressed, he was referred to Muhimbili Orthopedic Institute (MOI) for an urgent leg amputation to prevent further spread. However, unable to afford the TZS 600,000 required for the surgery, Amon lost hope. His family reached out to GH Foundation, and after assessing his case, we covered all medical expenses, including surgery, hospitalization, medication, and follow-up care. Thankfully, the cancer was contained, and Amon made a full recovery. However, with no source of income, he became entirely dependent on his family. To restore his independence, GH Foundation provided him with a Bajaj (three-wheeler) to operate as a taxi. Today, two years later, Amon has expanded his business, acquired a second Bajaj, and is building a home for his mother.
